This task has just been assigned by the Prime Minister to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Directive 07/CT-TTg on attracting social resources for socio-economic development in the land border areas on sea and islands associated with firmly protecting national sovereignty and improving people's life.
This Directive aims to ensure a comprehensive system of mechanisms and policies, promote efficiency of investment capital, create an open legal corridor, favorable conditions, and encourage social resources to participate in investment and socio-economic development associating with strengthening national defense and security in border areas on land, on sea and on islands. Gradually modernize border management; supporting people, agencies, organizations and individuals working and living in border areas, focusing on sedentarization, settlement, livelihood stabilization, and reduction of free migration; sustainable poverty reduction; socio-economic development in combination with natural resource management and environmental protection.
Implementing the Directive, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is tasked with announcing and publicizing the system of topographic maps and cadastral maps of border areas according to regulations.
