The environmental industry is a new sector that is sustainably developing in Viet Nam. Therefore, international integration will bring new opportunities for localities and enterprises in developing this industry.

Complete policy

In the context of continuous economic growth and increasing pressure on the environment, the environmental industry is the industry that countries are most concerned about in the country's economic development. Viet Nam is no exception.

In Viet Nam, many environmental industrial equipment, technologies, and products are highly valued in the domestic market, competing in quality, price, and longevity... Besides, some products have the opportunity to compete and reach out to the world after Vietnam signed many new-generation trade agreements.

To integrate internationally, Vietnam has proactively introduced solutions and support policies to motivate enterprises in the environmental industry to participate and convert to producing high-quality, high-tech products. ; Infrastructure to meet environmental industrial development is gradually completed, complete, and suitable for the Vietnamese context...

In Section 141, Article 4 of Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP, the Government has assigned tasks to ministries, sectors, and localities (including the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) to develop and submit to the Prime Minister for promulgation a list of specific technology, equipment, and products regulated by the environmental industry.

In order to implement the policy on developing the environmental industry, in addition to the Project for developing Vietnam's environmental sector to 2025 approved in Decision 192/QD-TTg dated February 13, 2025. 2017 of the Prime Minister, recently, the Prime Minister signed and promulgated Decision No. 980/QD-TTg dated August 22, 2023, on the specific list of technologies, equipment, and products of the environmental industry. This is also the basis for the State to prioritize development investment to meet the requirements of handling important, long-term environmental issues on a regional, national, and international scale that affect the sustainable development of the country; prevent and respond to environmental incidents and environmental disasters.

Attract resources

From the outstanding achievements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, international integration creates more favorable conditions for businesses and localities in developing the environmental industry. Through new technology and high-tech science, propaganda about the environmental industry in the mass media to raise awareness and responsibility of organizations and individuals about the environmental industry has been implemented more sufficiently and more practically and created a positive influence on the sector's development.

The Government, ministries, departments, sectors, and localities are also mobilizing and making the most of domestic and international resources to support the development of the environmental industry in human resource training and raising awareness and capacity to develop the environmental industry in addition to investing in promoting scientific research, applying and effectively transferring new technologies and new products to build the environmental sector; Ensure sufficient qualifications and quantity of human resources to work at state management agencies and businesses operating in the field of environmental industry.

The international integration process not only attracts enormous resources for the country's socio-economic development in general, but also creates conditions for foreign businesses to access the Vietnamese environmental industry market. Male. This is demonstrated through projects on green production of industrial products, energy renovation and recovery projects; Projects to transfer technology and equipment for wastewater treatment, garbage, and exhaust gas...

The process of international integration also creates balance in the balance of export and import of goods and environmental protection equipment. From a country that mainly imports, Vietnam has proactively sourced domestic supplies, reduced imports of equipment and components in production and met the domestic market, aiming to reach out to other markets worldwide.

The market for goods and products in the environmental industry has received many positive signals in the process of international integration. These are not only advantages but also challenges that require the Government, ministries, departments, and local branches to be determined to participate, from guidelines and policies to promoting implementation. The goal is that by 2025, the development of the environmental industry will ensure all expectations set out in the Project for developing Vietnam's environmental sector 2025, approved in Decision 192/QD- Circular dated February 13, 2017, of the Prime Minister.
