The Asian Development Bank supports Viet Nam in achieving its climate goals
On the morning of January 23, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Cong Thanh had a reception and working session with Mr. Windfried Wicklein, General Director of the Southeast Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). At the meeting, the two sides discussed climate finance issues and support to help Viet Nam implement projects to combat climate change.
The 8th Viet Nam - Japan Environmental Policy Dialogue
On January 12, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Environment of Japan organized the 8th Viet Nam - Japan environmental policy dialogue. On this occasion, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on environmental cooperation. This is the basis for the two ministries to continue implementing specific cooperation activities in the coming period.

At the meeting within the framework of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh and CEOs of WWF of the United States, United Kingdom, Denmark and Viet Nam pledged to strengthen cooperation on environment and climate with Viet Nam.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will cooperate with Standard Chartered Bank to develop the carbon market in the near future, aiming to commit to bringing net emissions to "zero" by 2050.

MONRE cooperating with Russian Company of FESCO on survey and assessment of potential marine mineral resources

On 6 December, Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien met with FESCO CEO Andrey Vasilevich Severilov and mission at MONRE office to discuss cooperation activies to deployed the MOU signed in 2023 on geological area. FESCO is one of the leading transportation and logistics companies in Russia operating a variety of assets including ports, terminals, vessel fleet, rolling stock. FESCO works in the Russian Far East and contributing to the growing trade between Russia and Asian countries.
The Netherlands wants to promote cooperation with Viet Nam on climate change and environmental adaptation

General Director of the Netherlands Development Agency (SNV), Mr. Simon O'Conell proposed to Minister Dang Quoc Khanh to promote cooperation between SNV and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on climate change adaptation based on nature-based solutions, which is SNV's strength.
COP 28: Viet Nam joins the Global Cooling Commitment
