Preparation for public comments on the draft Land Law (amended)

Under the authorization of the Prime Minister, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha has just signed the report No. 473/TTr-CP to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on collecting public opinions on the draft Land Law (amended).

According to the Government's proposal, the time to collect public comments  on the draft Land Law (amended) starts from January 3 to the end of February 28, 2023.

Objects of comment collection are: People of all classes in the country and overseas Vietnamese; State agencies and organizations at the central level: ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies attached to the Government; Supreme People's Court; Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam; State Auditor, Office of the President...

The content of collecting comments on the entire draft Land Law (amended) and issues related to the legitimate rights and interests of the people are of public interest.

Suggested forms of collecting comments include: Direct written comments; Organizing conferences, seminars and talks; Through the portal of the National Assembly, the Government, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the press agencies; Sociological investigation of policy content and impact of policies in the draft Law and other appropriate forms.

The collection of People's comments on the draft Land Law (amended) is an important political and legal event in order to promote the people's ownership, wisdom and enthusiasm in participating in the construction of the Land Law (amended); creating consensus of the people, expressing the will and aspirations of the people in amending the Land Law. Raise awareness and responsibility of each individual, agency and organization for the amendment of the Land Law and the implementation of the Law.

The overall objective of the Plan is to contribute directly to the goals of sustainable agricultural and rural development, the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change, and conserving biodiversity, sustainable forest management, transition to green economy, circular economy; promote sustainable livelihoods for local people and communities, ensure food security and protect the environment, thereby delivering on the commitments of the Glasgow Declaration.
