Awarding campaign medal for “Natural Resources and Environment Achievements” to Deputy Chief Representative of JICA in Vietnam

In the morning, November 20th, the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Tran Hong Ha awarded a campaign medal for “Natural Resources and Environment Achievements” to Mr. Suzuki Tadashi – Deputy Chief Representative of JICA for his contributions to this sector in Vietnam.

During his mission working in Vietnam since 2010, with the role of the Deputy Chief Representative of JICA in Hanoi office, Mr. Suzuki Tadashi has facilitated Vietnam to approach and implement many climate change and environment management programs/projects.

Particularly, Mr. Suzuki Tadashi has directed and coordinated to implement the project “Supporting Program to Respond to Climate Change” (SP-RCC); the project “Strengthen Capacity in the National Environmental Management” supporting the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment to strengthen capacity in environment monitoring, waste inventory and investigation. In addition, Mr. Suzuki Tadashi also supports developing the national biodiversity database system; “National Greenhouse Gases Inventory Capacity Building” project; “Emissions Management Mechanism Building” project; “NAMA Policy Framework Development” strengthening capacity for the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate change, as well as for other Ministries and Sectors in planning and implementing the NAMA policies. Mr. Suzuki Tadashi is main responsible for coordinating and managing programs/projects sponsoring for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The 8th Viet Nam - Japan Environmental Policy Dialogue

On January 12, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Environment of Japan organized the 8th Viet Nam - Japan environmental policy dialogue. On this occasion, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on environmental cooperation. This is the basis for the two ministries to continue implementing specific cooperation activities in the coming period.
